The Shoah Memorial (www.memorialdelashoah.org) is one of the largest research, information, and awareness raising center in Europe on the unprecedented history of the genocide of the Jews during the Second World War.
Located in Paris in the heart of the historical Marais quarter, this museum, documentation center and place of remembrance, offers an exceptional set of documents and numerous activities in order to contribute to a better understanding of this period in history. This knowledge can thus be transmitted to future generations so as to fight against the revival of every form of intolerance.
Principle activities:
Under the authority and in close relation with the director,
- Assume in large part and organize the representation of the Memorial abroad in a number of international organizations, meetings, conferences, etc.
- Propose and ensure the implementation of international projects promoting the value and qualities of the institution, including fund raising. Establish partnerships with governments, international organizations, and counterpart institutions, supervise the follow up and evaluation of projects
- Promote exchanges with counterpart institutions and ensure the mobility of Memorial experts on a European and world level
- Ensure the interface of the Memorial with French cultural and diplomatic networks
- Manage the activity of Memorial representatives abroad (Italy, Poland)
- Support the implementation of projects conducted by other departments, be they cultural, scientific, educational, or other.
Training and qualifications:
- Perfect mastery of French and English, both spoken and written. Knowledge of one other language appreciated.
- Diplomatic skills, capacity to network, independent, organized
- Ability to travel, very frequent trips
- Master’s degree or more (international relations, political science, humanities), several years of experience in the domain of international relations in a diplomatic and/or cultural environment. Minimal knowledge of history of genocides and Crimes against Humanity appreciated.
