2nd Dialogue Forum Mauthausen - Communication on the historic site

The Mauthausen Memorial – Place of Learning? Memorial? Cemetery? Museum? Can all these functions be accomplished by one concentration camp memorial? How can the significance and historical meaning of this site be communicated to its visitors?

The purpose of the Dialogue Forum is to discuss forms of theoretical direction and actual communication practice atconcentration camp memorials, including the relationship between designing a historic site and communicating its history. Moreover, research into concentration camp history and the educational content of memorial sites will also be discussed.

At the 2nd Mauthausen Dialogue Forum, these issues will be covered by presentations and workshops with national and internationalparticipation.
