Diese Kooperationsveranstaltung des „Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies“ des United States Holocaust Memorial Museums und der Topographie des Terrors wird als interdisziplinäre Konferenz die Folgen des Eichmann-Prozesses nach 50 Jahren untersuchen. Der Prozess wurde von Radio und Fernsehen übertragen und brachte dadurch die Aussagen von Überlebenden in einer noch nie dagewesenen Weise an die Öffentlichkeit. Damit wurde ein Wendepunkt im internationalen Bewusstsein des Holocaust markiert. Die Konferenz wird die Auswirkungen des Prozesses auf das Gesetz, die Medien und die Zeitgeschichte untersuchen.
Die Themen der einzelnen Panels beinhalten die gesetzlichen Folgen des Prozesses, die internationale Wahrnehmung des Prozesses in den 1960er Jahren, Eichmann und der Zionismus, den Prozess als mediales Ereignis und den Prozess aus heutiger Perspektive sowie die Auswirkungen, Entwicklungen und Herausforderungen, die daraus entstanden.
Das Programm wurde durch die großzügige Unterstützung der „Curt C. and Else Silberman Foundation“ möglich gemacht.
Die Konferenzsprachen sind Englisch und Deutsch.
Eine Simultanübersetzung wird angeboten.

Co-organized by the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum’s Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies and the Topography of Terror Foundation, this interdisciplinary conference will examine the legacy of the Eichmann Trial 50 years on. The trial was broadcast widely on radio and television, bringing the testimony of survivors into the public realm in an unprecedented way and marking a turning point in international awareness of the Holocaust. The conference will examine the trial’s lasting impact in the realms of law, media, and history.
Panels and lectures will address the legal implications of the trial, international reception of the trial in the 1960s, Eichmann and Zionism, the trial as media event, and the trial in contemporary perspective, including its impact and the developments and challenges that have arisen from it.

The official languages of the conference are English and German.
